Following the successful combined training camp last weekend, we are pleased to announce the squad that has been selected to represent Great Britain Men 45+ at the FIMBA Ticino 2025 World Maxibasketball Championship in Switzerland this summer.
Colchester-based DANIEL MANNING makes his international masters debut as M45+ Head Coach, and has selected a 10-man squad for Ticino 2025. The squad includes a core of players that have represented Great Britain Maxibasketball at previous European and World Championships in Malaga, Argentina and Pesaro, as well as three players making their debut with GB Maxis. Returning Pesaro 2024 squad members are:
6 ’5 Acho Anyigbo (Power Forward/Centre from Middlesbrough)
6 ’3 Mark Denchfield (Shooting Guard, Erkenwald)
6 ’5 Paul Jessop (Small Forward, Great Dunmow)
6’ 5 Pawel Szeczepanik (Power Forward, Maidstone).
Moving up from last years’ GB M40+ squad are:
6 ‘4 Douaine Anderson (Small Forward, Wolverhampton)
6 ‘2 Gareth Laws (Shooting Guard, Plymouth)
In the back court, Coach Manning has selected three GB Maxis debutants:
6 ’3 Aliaksandr Laryn (Point/Shooting Guard, Lincs);
6 ’2 Julian Keeling (Shooting Guard, Essex)
5 ’11 Stephen White (Point Guard, Manchester).
Finally, moving across from last year’s GB M50+ squad, we are delighted to welcome the ever-youthful 6 ’4 Andre Bayliss (Centre, Surrey) to the GB M45+ squad, who will undoubtedly create a formidable partnership inside the key with his fellow centre, Acho Anyigbo.
Congratulations to our selected players, and all our squads. We wish them every success as they now prepare in earnest for the World Maxibasketball Championship 2025.
