What a fantastic one day camp with these GB Maxis Women earlier today at the University of Brighton sports centre in Falmer. We were especially pleased to welcome Coach Steve Butler who travelled down from Teeside for his first GB camp in sunny Sussex by the sea, alongside coaches Anita Curtis, David J Mason, David Lyon, and Jimmy Jumpshot Smith. Great to welcome some new faces in the 35+/40+ training group, and to have coaches working with different players across the age categories. GB Maxis Womens Programme coaching lead CJ Lee opened camp with a welcome to all players a staff, including our new General Team Manager, Louisa Smalley and new physiotherapist Brie Spilchen.
With final team selections imminent, it was great to see players raising up their performance and demonstrating their in-game decision making abilities, as well as their individual and team basketball skills. The day ended with the usual group warm downs and for a few players there was a dip in the sea at the end of the day to aid muscle recovery!
