GB Maxis teams return to the European competition platform

We have selected players to compete in the Women’s 40+ & 50+ and the Mens 45+ competition. The tournament is well established and in its sixth year, having previously hosted players and teams from the Netherlands, Sweden, Lithuania, Ireland, Germany, Venice, the Italian National Masters team, the UK and Spain.

Teams will be welcomed by the City of Santander’s mayor at the magnificent Palacio de la Magdalena, which was built at the turn of the 20th century as a royal summer residence, and games will take place in three sporting venues across the city including the basketball show courts at the Palacio de los Deportes and the University of Cantabria.

The GB Women’s Euro 40+ coaching team has a new line up, as LEE CLARK is appointed Head Coach for the first time, assisted by Brian Deacon, whilst the Women Euro 50+ squad sees the return of our most experienced women’s masters coach DAVID MASON, assisted by Jimmy ‘Jumpshot’ Smith.

Stepping up to his first maxibasketball head coach role is RICCARDO RAGGI, who will lead the GB Men’s Euro 45+ team, assisted by Mark Poynton.
