Huge congratulations to GB Maxibasketball Coach Liam Jefferson who has been named GB Basketball Men’s Under 20 Assistant Coach! Liam will assist Head Coach Krumesh Patel alongside Bristol Flyers Chris Bourne and Team Manager Ruchae Walton in this year’s FIBA U20 European Championships from 7-16 July in Skopje, North Macedonia! Last year Liam headed up our EuropeanChampionship silver-medal winning GB Men’s 35+ team in Malaga, and is one of the driving forces at the Loughborough Riders basketball club.
And before the applause dies down… here’s another great appointment! Congratulations are also in order for GB Maxibasketball coach Stephen Barnes who was announced as GB Basketball U16 Men’s Assistant Coach for the FIBA U16M European Div B Championship, taking place from 4-13 August 2023 in Pitesti, Romania. Stephen is also gives his time as a Basketball England regional Aspire coach in the Midlands.
It’s great that GB Maxis coaches continue to be recognised by British Basketball at international level, and Stephen will be gaining even more experience when he travels with us to the World Maxibasketball Championship FIMBA – Mar Del Plata 2023 later this year in Argentina in his role as GB Men’s 50+Head Coach. It’s going to be a busy summer for him!
