GB Maxibasketball is delighted to have worked with all three home nation governing bodies to stage the first ever multi-generational Tri-Nations international tournament, which will take place next weekend at the National Basketball Performance Centre, in Manchester. Basketball England, Basketball Scotland and Basketball Wales will host male and female teams in the age group categories U14 and O35.
The Basketball England article highlights the depth and breadth of players aged 35+ years, and features interviews with key players who will be representing England 35+ namely Helene Trailin (Thames Valley Cavaliers) and ex-international player Helen Naylor, who recently won the WNBL2 trophy this year with Sheffield Hatters Basketball Club before announcing her retirement.
England Women’s 35+ Coach Steve Butler, believes that:
“It’s a must to have pathways for athletes to continue playing basketball and [to achieve] national representation. With the Maxibasketball programme, there’s a pathway there for athletes to continue to represent the country.”
GB Maxibasketball also celebrates and congratulates it’s programme players from Scotland and Wales that have been selected for their nations, and of course wish everyone the very best for the inaugural Tri-Nations event.
