Our team behind the team!
We caught up with Dr. Mark Dayson, Sport Science and Medicine Lead, to find out just what our Maxiballers get in terms of on-court and off-court support in order to perform at the highest level!
“After arriving 1 1/2 days ahead of game 1 for all teams, our focus is on acclimatising our GB Maxi-basketball players to the humid conditions in Pesaro.
Recovery from travel is a key part of preparation and using the change of environment to work through mobility on the beach creates an engaging collective session and positive mindset.
Players are now starting to access treatment sessions at the hotel pre and post training and games from the 5 therapists travelling and mobility, recovery and conditioning from our S&C lead.
Players will have access to injury prevention, assessment and treatment, sports massage and pre-game taping to keep them on the floor.
Planning the SSM Teams input for 10 is a significant collective effort from the large staff pool with have, from our leads, Head Coaches and especially our TM’s.
We are aligned in our direction and journey to achieve the objective of returning with medals.”
