This weekend, our GB F50+ Maxiballers competed at the Santander Masters Basket Tournament. Drawn in the toughest first round pool against Unicaja Málaga and Unahoramenos (Canary Islands), the tournament was a hard, but welcome test for our GB Maxis F50s team ahead of the FIMBA ticino World Championship 2025.
Day 1 involved three games: two hard fought encounters against Málaga (9am) and Unahoramenos (12pm) which they lost, followed by an evening game at 7pm against PASEK which our GB 50s won , setting them up for the bronze group trophy on Day 2 at 10am against and ACB Caminos.

The last two games were closer than they should have been, but our ladies prevailed on Day 2 to win the bronze group trophy despite being down a few players due to injury and early departure back to the UK.

So next up is our final training day before FIMBA Ticino 2025, when all squads meet up on 14th June at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena. The countdown continues.
