What a fantastic season opener for GB Maxis Men at last weekend’s training & selection camp held at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena, the training base of the GB Maxibasketball national teams programme. With around 100 players on site across three courts and six age categories …the place was buzzin’!
Our men’s coaching programme lead, Jesse Sazant said: “It was amazing, great atmosphere and I was really pleased with the effort over the two days!”
Both our men’s and women’s camps provided coaches (new and returning) with the opportunity to work with a variety of age groups. The quality and depth of registered players will determine how many teams (and the age category) will travel to Athens next year, and our programme leads are expected to formally appoint Head Coaches before the final round of open camps in October. This will maximise the time available to work with their selected squads from November onwards.
