What a bank holiday weekend it was for our GB Maxibasketball Women’s 40+ squad!At the South Coast Classic in Southampton last weekend, our girls went out and proved exactly what they’re made of — taking home 3rd place on their very first outing together as a full squad.

GB 32 – 37 Ally Ooopsies (tournament winners 
) GB 38 – 24 Swish Squad GB 25 – 32 United Nations (runners-up 
) GB 38 – 31 The Sisterhood GB 45 – 27 Swish Squad (3rd place play-off)4 wins from 6 games. Two losses — both to the teams who went on to take gold and silver. We’ll take that! 
Coach Anita Curtis said:
“It was really good; a real challenge for the team. Lots learned and we finished 3rd, which was good considering it wasn’t a masters tournament. They did GB Maxis proud both on and off the court”
This tournament was so much more than a result — it was crucial prep ahead of the European Maxibasketball Championship in Athens this June. The team is coming together, the chemistry is building, and the best is absolutely yet to come.
